Department of Environment and Natural Resources-River Basin Control Office (DENR-RBCO) and the DENR Region VI facilitated the roll-out of the Panay and the Jalaur and Iloilo-Batiano Integrated River Basin Management and Development Master Plans (IRBMDMP) in the cities of Roxas and Iloilo, respectively.
The Panay IRBMDMP was presented at San Antonio Resort, Roxas City last September 21-22, 2015.While, the Jalaur and Iloilo-Batiano IRBMDMPs were presented at Days Hotel, Iloilo City last September 23-24, 2015. Mr. Noel Ortigas, the Executive Vice President of the Engineering and Development Corporation of the Philippines (EDCOP), discussed the Panay and Jalaur River Basin Master Plans. Meanwhile, Center for Environmental Studies and Management (CESM) consultant Dr. Lofe Villenas presented the Iloilo-Batiano River Basin Master Plan.
Capiz Governor Hon. Victor A. Tanco, Assistant Regional Director for Management Services Livino B. Duran andAssistant Regional Director for Technical Services Jesse L. Vego gave the welcome remarks. Deputy Executive Director Eugenio O. Diaz, Jr. and Mr. Raymond R. Virgino of RBCO presented the Integrated River Basin Management (IRBM) Framework.
