
Presided by RBCO Executive Director Antonio M. Daño, the deliberation and approval of the Phase 2 reports of the Formulation of Climate Change Responsive Integrated River Basin Management and Development Master Plan for 8 Clustered River Basins was conducted during the National Steering Committee (NSC) meetings held last July 10 and July 12, 2019 at DENR-EMB Conference Room, AQTM Building, Quezon City.
First day of the meeting was attended by representatives from 24 government offices (e.g NEDA, DPWH, NIA, DILG, OCD, NCIP, CCC, DENR, etc.) while on the second day, 17 government offices were represented by their staff.
UPLB presented the Phase 2 reports that included gap analysis, strategies and the proposed measures. Proposed indicators were also provided as a guide in the monitoring and evaluation of the project. During the Open Forum session, the issues raised by the different agencies centered on indicators and the proposed projects for the Climate Change Responsive Integrated River Basin Management and Development Master Plan of the 8 clustered river basins. UPLB responded to all the queries and took into consideration the concerns of the NSC members. The report will be scheduled for presentation to the different Provincial Development Council (PDC) prior to the presentation to the Regional Development Council.
The NSC members are expected to provide additional comments, inputs and suggestions after two weeks. The Phase 2 reports for the 8 cluster river basins is conditionally approved subjected to the incorporation of the comments of the NSC.
