An orientation-workshop on mainstreaming climate change adaptation and resiliency in integrated river basin master plan for Central Cebu River Basin (CCRB) master plan was held last March 4-6, 2015 at Diamond Suites Cebu, Cebu City. The activity was participated by the representatives from DENR-RBCO and Region 7, Philippine Water Partnership, LGUs, academe and private sector.
Assistant Regional Director for Management Services, Eduardo M. Inting gave a welcome message and expressed his gratitude that the workshop was conducted in Region 7. This was followed by a key message from the Executive Director of River Basin Control Office (RBCO), Director Jacob Meimban Jr.
The three (3) day workshop was composed of 10 modules namely: Introduction of the training; 2.) Climate Change Proofing; 3.) Interpreting Climate Change; 4.) Overview of the 4-step Approach to Mainstreaming Climate Change; 5.) Access Vulnerability; 6.) Identify the Adaption Options; 7.) Prioritization and Selection of Adaptation Measures; 8.) Developing the M&E Framework; 9.) Building Institutional Capacity; and 10.) Taking Action on Adaptation.
Likewise, there were ten (10) exercises that were conducted after each modules were presented. It was then discussed and agreed to hire a technical writer that will be tasked in updating the master plan, with DENR as the leading agency.
