To prepare the office for the implementation of the project, “Ecosystem-based management and application of ecosystem values in two river basins in the Philippines (E2RB)â€, RBCO staff participated in the seminar organized by GIZ on October 28-29, 2019 at Sequioa Hotel, Quezon City. The seminar was participated by representatives from GIZ, the DENR Central Office, Bureaus and staff from the DENR regional offices. The 2-day seminar showcased lectures from various experts on ecosystem services and tools on the Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), climate change and biodiversity as well as various exercises after every lectures which also allowed knowledge sharing among participants based on their expertise.
The seminar allowed the E2RB project partners and stakeholders to have a better understanding on the EbA concepts, ecosystem services and their functions and to identify the risks present in the project areas. At the end of the seminar, the participants were also introduced to the different methodologies, frameworks and examples relevant within the river basins.
